Pagos Releases SpreadsheetWEB 6.10 with the New Queries Module to Create Database Queries without Any Coding
Cambridge, MA, May 28, 2019 – Pagos, Inc. announces the release of SpreadsheetWEB 6.10, introducing the ability to create database queries on the designer interface and pull data from other database tables with ease.
Excel has been traditionally the calculation model, database, and the user interface of many applications. However, this approach is not scalable and doesn’t translate well into web applications either.
Interconnected applications and databases usually give a better performance than stand-alone tools, allow for interoperability, and make analyzing data much easier. These connections are usually created through database queries, but this requires proficiency in SQL, and exposing the platform externally.
With this version, SpreadsheetWEB introduced a new module called “Queries”. This module allows creating database queries, without any SQL knowledge.
When creating a query, the data model comes from the underlying data structure of the selected application, and you can create an SQL query by selecting the desired columns and conditions. When a query is saved, all necessary information to run the query during runtime calculations will be stored in the system, and you’re going to be able to use this data anywhere in your web applications.
“The scalability of many platforms depends on how well you can piece together multiple systems, each handling a different operation in a system. Using a database to store data instead of keeping everything in Excel allows us to do this on web applications, and we also had methods that allowed users to write their own SQL queries to pull data from different parts of the system” says Ugur Kadakal, CEO of Pagos, and continues “Now, we can do the same thing without any coding whatsoever. With the queries module, you can essentially create SQL queries simply by selecting from a few options.”.
