Pagos Announces the Release of SpreadsheetWeb 6.18 with Formula Override and Advanced Data Filters

Cambridge, MA, July 13, 2020 – Pagos, Inc. has just released SpreadsheetWeb 6.18, introducing the ability to override formula-generated fields during runtime, enhanced filter options on the Data page, and the new Google Sheets Connector.

A typical Excel application often contains a predetermined set of cells for user inputs, and some for outputs generated by formulas. This may not always hold true, whereas in some applications, (such as an output value like a suggested discount rate) the business model might intentionally allow the end user to edit the formula-generated results. This is Excel’s default behavior, and any unlocked cell is editable. The Formula Override feature introduced in this version aims to bring this feature into Designer applications, and allow the end users to manually change the value of an output control during application runtime. Users can revert back to the formula-generated results by pressing a reset button that appears next to overridden controls.

The Data page in SpreadsheetWeb’s Control Panel is essential to accessing saved records of a web application, as well as taking part in the application workflow. This version introduces more capabilities for filtering the records shown on this page through a set of system-generated filter controls on the right-hand menu. These controls span all columns visible to the user on the Data page, meaning that the filtering options will depend on fields and data types are used in that application.

The free, web-based spreadsheet program Google Sheets is very popular amongst individuals and businesses alike. The platform offers a lot of convenience, allowing users to create and share spreadsheets that are typically built with a relatively simple calculation logic. With SpreadsheetWeb’s new Google Sheets Connector, users can now push data into a Google Sheets workbook, directly from a SpreadsheetWeb application, without any coding involved.

“Most applications are built with clear guidelines in how the users are expected to interact with the tool. This can be as simple as ‘user enters data here, and gets results here’. However, some applications can require more intervention from the end user. For this, we have introduced Formula Override capabilities in this version. This is a relatively advanced feature that is only available in complex custom coded applications.” says Ugur Kadakal, CEO of Pagos, and continues “We are thrilled to have added features that essentially offer the best of Excel and web technologies have to offer.”
